Platon Antoniou; born 20 April 1968, is a British photographer who has taken portraits of many presidents and well known world figures. His photo of Putin was on the cover of Time Magazine in 2007. Platon was raised in Greece by his English mother and Greek father. He attended Saint Martin’s School of Art and the Royal College of Art.
He published a book in 2004 called Platon’s Republic
In 2009 he worked for The New Yorker

This is my favorite Platon photo. This is President George w. Bush.
I don’t know when this picture was taken however I do know that it was taken in Platon’s studio in New York.
This picture uses the divine rectangle. As you can see, President Bush’s right hand is in the large left rectangle and his head is smaller and in the background to the right. His Left hand is folded and is in the bottom rectangle.

I like your insight into this artist, and I also like the composition used in the photo of President Bush. Remember never say “you do not know” in a photo analysis without at least giving a guess or broad based answer.
